Buddhist Mario Bros.
This thread is about how to play Buddhist Mario Bros.
Here's how it works:
1) You may not collect coins.
2) You may not kill anything. ( yes, this includes abandoning Yoshi into pits)
3) When you finish the level, you must walk (in order to show humility).
4) You may use powerups, but must realize that possessions are impermanent, as is everything in Mario World.
5) You must seek refuge in the 3 Jewels of Buddhism: the Buddha, the Sangha and the Dharma.
6) You may not have sexual relations with the Princess, nor any others in Super Mario World unless you take them as a consort, concubine or pay with your own money (no using other's money, and remember - you can't collect money).
7) Follow the Noble Eightfold Path
The game is much more difficult to complete in this way, but when the game resets your karma will be greater than before you started.

I suppose if you look at its original form. As with the glorious aryan pure master race!! Aryan originally meant an indo-european person.
But Mario is Italian, so he was clearly part of the Axis powers. He was even created in Japan!
BTW, the swastika also appears in Buddhism and Jainism.

True... I like how Jainists will sweep in front of themselves as they walk so not to kill any insects. I refrigerate wandering lady bugs that make their way into my dorm room.
When it's warm, I put them outside again...
So that they can eat aphids. ><

This concept was stolen from "Dresden Codak" and this cartoon strip... I first heard of it from a friend, though, who I thought had original ideas. He doesn't.

When I was 5 I had an NES and Mario Bros. (1990) I used to ask people to come over and play NES just so that I could be Luigi (and I liked to make people happy by playing video games with them).
My favorite color was green, too!
